Automatic Pool Cleaners
We stock a large range of automatic Automatic pool cleaners. We have machines suitable for cleaning small domestic pools as well as machines suitable for cleaning large 50m commercial pools. Whatever size pool, we will have a cleaning solution for it.
There are three types of automatic pool cleaners as listed below.
Suction pool cleaners are the most popular type of automatic pool cleaner as they are fairly simply and cheap to purchase. These types of pool cleaners have a hose attached to them which connects up to either a purpose made suction point on the pool or can be connected to the skimmer. These machines are powered by the pool filtration pump which causes the automatic pool cleaner to move slowly around the pool vacuuming up the debris and sending it back down the hose to the pool filter. The disadvantages with these cleaners is that they will take a long time to clean a pool and they are more likely to get stuck than a robotic pool cleaner would. Also as they suck dirt back to the pools filter, this will cause the filter to require a backwash more frequently, which in turn costs money as this involves pumping heating water and chemicals down the drain.

Robotic pool cleaners
Robotic pool cleaners are the best, most efficient and quickest way to clean a pool. They are also the most expensive type of automatic pool cleaner but they are by far the best. Robotic pool cleaners are low voltage electrical machines that are dropped into the pool, the electric cable that is attached to it is then plugged into the power supply which in turn plugs into the 240v mains power outlet. This power supply converts the voltage down to low voltage so the automatic pool cleaner is safe to use in the water. Once the machine is in the water and plugged in, just turn it on and it will start its cleaning cycle around the pool. These machines all have onboard computers that work out the size and shape of the pool enabling the machine to plot a cleaning path that will cover all the pool in minimum time. Robotic pool cleaners have filter bags or box systems that collects all of the dirt and debris onboard. Once the machine has finished its cycle it is then lifted out of the pool and the filter is emptied and cleaned then all ready for next time.Suction Pool Cleaners

Pressure Pool Cleaners
These types of automatic pool cleaners use a dedicated pool pump which is usually installed in the plant room. This pool pump is connected to a dedicated pipe which returns to the pool. A hose then connects the pool return pipe to the pool cleaner. The pressure from the pump propels the machine around the pool and the dirt and debris is collected in an onboard filter bag. The advantage of these cleaners is that the dirt is not taken back to the pool filter, this helps reduce the amount of backwashing required. Pressure pool cleaners are not something that can easily be added to a pool as the return suction line really needs to be installed when the pool is built. Many people have moved away from having these installed when a pool is built as robotic pool cleaners are a better and more cost effective solution these days.Dolphin 3001 (3001)
